Nishi Chawla is the third Indian poet ever to be interviewed for the US Library of Congress sponsored 'The Poet and the Poem' program in June 2024.
Nishi Chawla is among few South Asian playwrights whose play has been performed on off Broadway. Her play, 'Kasturba versus Gandhi,' was staged 12 times in June 2024 in an off Broadway production. Her tenth play, 'he Mahatma versus Gurudev' has also been accepted to be staged off Broadway in June 2025.
